Shipping the stories

How fast do orders leave the desk?

Orders placed before 2pm ship the same day, sealed and bubble-wrapped like the fragile little novels they are. Standard delivery takes 2–4 working days; express arrives next day for orders placed before noon.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we ship to most of the world. Perfume is classed as a dangerous good in air freight (all that alcohol), so international parcels travel by road and sea carriers and can take 7–14 working days. Duties are calculated at checkout.

How is perfume packed?

Every bottle leaves in its sealed retail box, wrapped, corner-protected and packed in a rigid carton. If a courier treats it like a football and something breaks, photograph the damage and we replace it — no debate.

Returns & regrets

Can I return a fragrance?

Unopened and cellophane-sealed: yes, within 30 days, full refund. Opened: we can't restock it, which is exactly why we write the most honest reviews we can and offer samples — so regret never gets a page in your journal.

What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?

Write to us within 48 hours with a photo and your order number. Replacements ship the same day where stock allows; otherwise you choose between a refund or store credit with a little extra for the trouble.

Authenticity, always

Are your fragrances genuine?

Every bottle is sourced sealed from authorised distributors, batch-coded and verifiable. We publish batch codes on request and stand behind every page in the archive — 98% authentic stock isn't a slogan, the other 2% is testers we clearly label as testers.

Do you sell samples or decants?

Most library entries are available as 2ml sprays, hand-decanted from sealed stock, labelled in ink like everything else here. It's the cheapest way to wear the story for a week before committing to a bottle.

The reviews

How do you score fragrances?

Worn on skin for at least a week, in real weather, by at least two of us. Longevity, sillage and value are measured; the final mark out of ten has to survive an argument at dinner. Nobody pays for a score — houses can send bottles, but the ink stays ours.

Can I request a review?

Absolutely — write to the desk with the fragrance name and house. The most-requested bottles get bumped up the pile.
